Noticed that the Puzzle is now closed. Anyone know what's happening here?

According to a sign on the front door, it's going to re-open this Friday, 4th June, as 'The Wandle'.

I think that they should have called it the Sailor Prince. Don't really like the name but that sign on the side of teh pub looks cool.

Well V888,
It was indeed called the Sailor Prince. A very local, rough old boozer it was too. The first time I went in (around 1988) the place fell deathly silent as all the punters stopped drinking and stared at me walking all the way to the bar. Once driving by, my friend Simon commented "That place looks like the arms of the chairs should have tattoos". And he was right.
To be honest I don't think it did itself any favours becoming a chain pub, so maybe 'The Wandle' will be worthy of our wonderful neighbourhood.
Cocktail sometime perhaps?
Cheers. Paul.

Hey V,
The Brazilian and Friends are fantastic. I posted a little note on Friends up here under 'Great new restaurant in Earlsfield'.
The Brazilian runs an all you can eat buffet for a very reasonable price. It's a meat eaters dream... they just keep bringing freshly BBQ'd lamb, beef chicken etc, and that's supported by a great salad bar. I'd say though, it may be better to with a bunch of mates. It's kind've got that vibe.
Hannah's Place is really good too. Modern European cooking with interesting twists.
You're right... you gotta love Earlsfield. We're very lucky.

Paul.
