The Organisation for Homeless and Unemployed People

Postby todonnell on Thu Mar 18, 2010 3:26 pm

we've had a couple of visits from young men claiming to be from "The Organisation for Homeless and Unemployed People", they go from door-to-door selling items like J-Cloths, dusters etc. These items are enormously overpriced.

According the the link below, these people have been targetting various areas around South London, and when you decline to buy any of their wares ther are known to become abusive, or try to guilt you into buying with tales of hard luck.

One of the ones who visited us told us that this was a Government scheme to help unemployed people, this is untrue and the address printed on their labels does not exist. Another became abusive when we pointed out his crazy prices.

These people need to be told firmly to get lost.
